Bio

Alyssa Harris is a singer-songwriter and dynamic vocalist now based in Austin, Texas. She is an engaging performer with over a decade of experience sharing her passion for music with audiences from coast to coast and across the globe.

Alyssa was born in Napa, California and raised in Sacramento by a loving, and supportive family. She grew up singing in choir as well as  performing in dance troupes throughout high school. At age 18, Alyssa set out for the bright lights of Los Angeles where she completed her undergrad and cultivated her passions for singing, songwriting and performing. While in LA, she wrote, recorded and performed her own original music on the local artist scene in such iconic venues as the Pasadena Playhouse, The Key Club on Sunset, and House of Blues Hollywood, and several regional events, fairs, and festivals. She also held lead roles in regional theatre productions such as Hair, Evita, and many more while in Los Angeles, and performed as Princess Tiana in the production Mickey and the Magical Map at Disneyland.

Alyssa embarked on her traveling adventures in 2015 when she began singing on various cruise ships around the world: first with a 10-piece band at Carnival Cruise Lines, and then as a production singer for both Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Lines. In 2016, Alyssa was the magnetizing frontwoman for the iconic B.B King's Blues Club at Sea on Holland America Line.

Shortly after she set out for the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip in 2018, she was cast as a lead vocalist in one of The Strip's most popular productions: "Vegas! The Show" at Planet Hollywood, paying tribute to the history of Las Vegas performers such as Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and more through dazzling performances yielding standing ovations nightly. She was also seen headlining in many Las Vegas venues such as The Tuscany, The Tropicana, The Rio,  The Space LV, and Mandalay Bay and more.

Alyssa Harris currently performs her own headline shows aboard various cruise lines, at corporate shows and private events all over the world. She moves audiences with her tribute shows: "Rockin Your Soul",  "Motor City to Memphis",  and "Supreme Diva: The Diana Ross Tribute Show". As she gets settled into the Austin live music scene, she'll continue to rock audiences with electrifying performances of both original music and cover favorites. Her most recent project, "Wild Dreamer" is an EP of original music and features a blend of indie-rock/alt-pop tunes that are creating a buzz on the new artist scene.

Alyssa is passionate about both performing and teaching. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Performance Studies, a Master of Arts in Musicology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies with Music History at the center of her research focus, and hopes to teach at a collegiate level someday in the future. She also runs a vocal coaching business called Dynamic Voices Singing Studio, where she's able to share her passion for music and performing with other aspiring singers and help them on their journey of success in singing.

About "Wild Dreamer", New EP

Wild Dreamer is the second project release and first official EP by Alyssa Harris. Her first mixtape "Thrill Me"  (later re-released in 2020 under the new title "Before I Knew What I Didn't Know") was released in 2011 and included a mixture of R&B, Neo-Soul, and Pop songs written and co-produced by Harris.

She and her creative partner, sound engineer & lead producer Josh Dixon (C.BOY Records) carefully curated a dynamic catalog that would eventually propel Alyssa Harris onto the scene as a fierce new independent artist. The project was well-received on the local music scene in Los Angeles where it was performed on popular stages in venues like The Key Club, House of Blues Hollywood, and on countless events in the LA artist scene.

In the latter portion of 2019, coming off of the heels of a successful career in corporate entertainment performing on cruise ships around the world and in casino theaters on the Las Vegas strip, Alyssa Harris has returned to her first love of songwriting with the release of her newest EP. She describes the theme of project as "an ode to fresh starts". The project boasts 6 original tracks; the 6th being an exclusive bonus track; a haunting acoustic piano version of the project's high-energy rock tune "Dreaming of the City". With a mix of indie-pop, soft rock, and a touch of reggae, "Wild Dreamer" shows the multifaceted progression of Harris' songwriting. "[The EP] is really just about opening and closing chapters, starting a new life, and leaving your past behind... in a positive way, though," Harris describes. She notes that one of her favorite tracks "Irish Goodbye" pretty much sums that sentiment right up: "When you leave a bar and don't want to say anything to anyone, you just want to dip out without all the fuss...well, that could be applied to starting fresh in a relationship or any new stage of life, too."

The most intriguing thing about this project is its variety of genre fusions. The subject matter, barely grazing topics of romance or heartbreak, are refreshing and even uplifting, like the single "More Good Times"  and island-steeped feel is unique for an indie rock artist and new to Harris' style. "Wild Dreamer" reflects the artist's current reality all while being relatable. The variety of styles brings something to every taste, with a fresh outlook on the indie pop-rock sound.
